Formatting a computer is a very time consuming task. In this fast moving world it is not possible for everybody to sit in front of their PC for a long time. But only formatting a PC isn't not only the solution to make the partition hard-drive.
And creating a Logical drive without formatting is a very easy task as nothing. Just follow the simple steps which listed below, and you are done... Open Computer Management window by right clicking on the My Computer and then selecting the list item Manage.
On the left side section access Disk Management under storage category.
In the middle section from the drive list select the drive to which you want to shrink to make a new partition. The shrink volume which you ll have to mention in MB will be your new drive's actual size.
Right click on that drive and click on Shrink Volume.
Mention the shrink volume in the textbox "Enter the amount of space to shrink in MB". For this you will need do some little calculation... 1GB=1024MB so if you want to make a partition of 20GB then you will have to mention it as 20480 after calculating 1024*20=20480, and press Shrink.
After this you will get the new volume under name unallocated and it will be displayed just under the drive list. Now right click on that and select the New Simple Volume. In the wizard click Finish followed by series of Next.
Format the newly created volume with NTFS file system... You are done...
