IOS 6 Tethered Jailbreak - Iphone guide

Ios6 tethered jailbreak
On 19th September iPhone released it's updated OS version called ios6. Officially company says ios6 adds 200 features like Facebook Integration, Panorama,New improved App Store,Passbook,DonotDisturb and many more. iPhone users already must have updated this version,and looking for jailbreaking it.Let me tell you Dev team didn't yet built any UNTETHERED JAILBREAK. Only tethered jailbreak is released only in iPhone4, 3GS, 3G, ipad1, ipod touch 3G. So having a tethered jailbreak isn't worthy enough.Here is my own experience jailbreaking tethered version on iPhone 4 on ios6. I removed the jailbreak after getting issues.

Tethered jailbreak can be easily done by redsnow software,you can get the procedure on redsnow website. Personlly speaking do not go for tethered version as an when you install any app on Cydia either it needs to re-spring or reboot. Tethered version needs a redsnow to reboot but even respring does'nt work sometime and screen goes black with stucked iphone logo. So my personal suggestion is wait for sometime and get the untethered jailbreak.Do not update the ios6 via Over The Air.Crazy iPhone users desperate to get tethered jailbreak can get it easily by following steps.
Before practicing jailbreak make sure you have these:
  1. You can download latest version of  iTunes from here->
  2. Latest Ios 6 Firmware
  3. Putty for Windows user.
Remember:

  1. This jailbreak is tethered one so everytime when your battery dies you to connect your phone to computer open redsnow go to extras and hit the "just boot".
  2. Not all of the jailbreak apps support ios6.
  3. Users on Gevey sim should stay away from tethered jailbreak.

Two steps to update ios6 in iTunes:
- Either UPDATE button Or RESTORE button.
- Update button updates via Apple server and Restore button updates via getting the ipsw source.
Hold the SHIFT key and then press the Restore button and select the ipsw file downloaded.

Steps to get TETHERED JAILBREAK->
  1. After Successfully updating ios6,connect your device to the computer using power cable.
  2. Now you have to put your iPhone in DFU Mode.
  • Open iTunes
  • Hold the power and home button exactly at one time for 10 seconds.
  • Then leave the power button and keep holding the home button until the below image appears.,

    3. Start Redsnow by right clicking and run as administrator.
    4. Goto->Extras->Select IPSW->your ios6 firmware and click ok.
    5. Select->Back->Jailbreak. Now it will notify you that "prepairing jailbreak data",followed by some pages then select the option "install ssh Cydia is not avialable for ios6 yet"-> click next.
    6. Your phone will start the process and you will get the below message.

    7. Hence when finally its done put your device back into DFU mode.
    8. Click "Back"->"Just Boot". Once it finishes close redsnow.
   9. Goto your device->Settings->WIFI->and hit the arrow to the connected wifi. Note down the IP address.
   10. Now for Only Windows user open putty as Run as Administrator(For MAC users follow the steps given down after step-17).
   11. In Host name add your phone IP address then click "Open".
   12. A pop up Notification will come if your successfully jailbreaked.

Remember: If pop notification Doesn't display, then your jailbreak successfully. Even Putty will not connect to your device successfully. You will have to repeat jailbreak from the start.

   13. If successfully jailbreaked after pop up alert click on "Yes" button.
   14. Putty cmd page will pop up following written code as login as.Write the code "root" infront of login as->hit enter.
   15. Then write Password: "alpine".

Note: Password is invisible so, will not appear.

   16. Copy paste the below code:
wget -q -O /tmp/cyinstall.sh http://downloads.kr1sis.net/cyinstall.sh && chmod 755
/tmp/cyinstall.sh && /tmp/cyinstall.sh

   17. After a minute or so your device should reboot, and Cydia will be installed. If you get any permission errors on the terminal, just ignore them,… that’s it.

(For MAC users use this procedure after Step-9)
- In terminal type: ssh root@your.ip.address(example- ssh root@192.165.0.103)(be sure to change the IP address to match your iOS device’s IP)
- It will connect in some seconds then after this continue using procedure from Step-15.)
